I read over at Blogg Marteins Sveinssonar that volume one of the Europaio grammar is now online. Europaio, or Modern Indo-European (MIE), is an auxlang based on reconstructions of Proto-Indo-European. Its designers are working toward making it an official language of the European Union. With 23 official languages currently, and more on the way, the linguistic situation in the EU is becoming unwieldy. (The grammar is very interesting. Oddly, however, every MIE word is immediately followed by a full derivation, severely interrupting the flow of the text.) I toyed with this idea myself some months ago. But now I strongly suspect that advances in machine translation will allow the EU to continue tacking on official languages.
